The exhibitions have contributed significantly to the popularisation of international design and architecture since the museum opened.

The venue became the catalyst for a new architectural concept: the convergence of varying architectural styles that set the site apart thanks to its vitality and distinctiveness.

The expressively formed construction of the museum was designed by Frank O. Gehry, the fire station by Zaha Hadid, and the surrounding buildings by Nicholas Grimshaw, Tadao Ando and Alvaro Siza. Special exhibitions 29.09.2007 ? 10.02.2008
