Children can take the MRB to travel to events at the Robinson playground.

| MRB personnel are responsible for the operation of the railway. They are mainly children who play at taking on the roles of engine drivers and guards and ticket collectors. To ensure the safety of the passengers, every engine driver must pass a basic test. Robi, the owner of the railway, reports: One amusing detail is that I am called Robi (Robert) and I built the railway on the Robi (Robinson) playground. So I called it the Muttenzer-Robi railway. In the 70s, around 1976/78, I was busy looking for another way of occupying myself, instead of just repairing cars from morning till night, and so I built the railway. At first, I worked with my son, Markus. While we were working, I got to know an interesting man, who was really crazy about welding and working hard. He was Andi (Andreas, although we call him Bartli) and so we became three people who had the will and the patience to build a steam railway system. The tireless effort bore fruit in 1983 and so the Muttenz-Robi railway was born to give pleasure to hundreds of children at every event it holds. |
