Easily accessible, ideally developed

With KONUS free of charge through the Black Forest

Be it by train, bus, car or aeroplane: the holiday region in the three countries corner Germany-France-Switzerland is optimally accessible out of all directions and by all means of transportation. Even 16 long-distance cycling-trails are traversing the region.

This is only available in the Black Forest: the KONUS-Gästekarte (guest card). The name needs getting used to, the effect is huge. Whoever shows the KONUS-Gästekarte when entering busses or trains, can profit from free rides for himself and his holiday mates in six transport networks in the Middle and Southern Black Forest.

From 2008 on the KONUS-service shall be expanded to the whole holiday region. This way the Black Forest offers a relaxed holiday being absolutely unique.
Information on KONUS

Arriving by train

The Black Forest can be reached by long-distance trains (ICE – inter city express; IC – inter city) without any problems and is well-developed with regional trains.

The railway line leading from Northern to Southern Europe, called the Rhine Valley railway line, goes along the west side of the holiday region. Five stations are connected with ICEs and therefore facilitate the journey for our guests from all directions.

The modern night trains belonging to the city-nightline train connections bring you here to the Black Forest – you will feel fantastically rested. The connection exists between Switzerland and the main stations in Northern, Eastern and Western Germany as well as the Benelux countries.

The Murgtalbahn, the Schwarzwaldbahn and the Höllentalbahn are crossing the mountains from east to west. In the north there is the railway line from Karlsruhe via Pforzheim to Stuttgart and in the south there is the Hochrheinbahn from Basel to the Lake of Constance.

There are also numerous local trains which are criss-crossing the whole region departing from all important stations.
