The Black Forest is criss-crossed by an ample net of cycle routes. 16 national and international tracks are going through the holiday region.
Along the Rhine and its affluents coming from the Black Forest there are a lot of signposted routes according to every requirement – from relaxed to really sportive, from culinary tours via family routes to race tracks. During the summer, regional transportation companies offer so-called bicycle-busses. They drive you “up the forest” – and you can roll downhill again for kilometres.
You will meet racing cyclists in the Markgräflerland or at the Kaiserstuhl every day who have ideal workout conditions in the smooth hilly landscape of the mountains facing Black Forest and the Rhine Valley.
The Black Forest has repeatedly been awarded best mountain bike terrain in Germany. One reason is the uniformly signposted 7,000 kilometres of MTB-trails. There are 4,000 kilometres in the Nature-Park of southern Black Forest alone which want to be cycled.
